SB 98 - Criminalizes Handheld Device Use While Driving on Public Roads in this State

Criminalizes talking on a handheld cell phone in car. This bill is government overreach at its worst. Louisiana citizens are able to talk on a handheld device and drive a car at the same time, and there is no compelling evidence of a connection between talking on a handheld device and increased traffic accidents. This bill is a money grab for insurance companies to raise premiums, and it violates the civil liberties of Louisiana citizens.
